Emu Oil is a product most people associate with adult use to treat arthritis, sports injuries, or psoriasis, however Emu oil is also beneficial for the most sensitive and newest skin – your baby’s!
Making sure your baby is healthy and nurtured is one of the most important aspects of parenting, and when your baby develops a skin condition such as eczema, dermatitis, nappy rash and dry skin or even cradle cap, it’s important that you use a naturally safe product.
Emu Spirit’s Oil of Emu (100% pure) is a fantastic natural anti-inflammatory that helps relieve the symptoms and severity of many babies and children’s skin conditions including nappy rash, eczema, cradle cap, sore and swollen gums (teething), and burns. One of the greatest attributes of our Oil of Emu is that it is TGA approved, is safe and non-toxic, and suitable for internal and external use.
There are many products out there that use additives and preservatives that can irritate sensitive babies skin. Emu Spirit’s Oil of Emu does not contain additives or preservatives and doesn’t contain any harmful antibiotics or hormones. Emu Oil doesn’t promote the growth of bacteria and is hypoallergenic, so it’s absolutely perfect for conditions such as nappy rash and eczema where the skin is most likely to be irritated by scratching, which can lead to infection.
Many of our customers turn to use Emu Oil on their babies’ skin to treat conditions such as eczema because they are no longer comfortable or satisfied with using a topical cortisone cream. We find the most effective way to introduce Emu oil into your child’s skin routine is by applying to the skin morning or night (or both), and at nappy change time. As a little extra, put a few drops into the bath - This really encourages the skin to absorb the oil and promotes skin regeneration.
In 2007, Emu Spirit and The University of Victoria conducted a double blind trial on childhood eczema and adult psoriasis. After three months, the children that were using Emu oil on their eczema experienced a significant reduction of the pain and symptoms associated with eczema - some children were able to reduce their symptoms to the point where their eczema didn’t return.
Emu Oil is also great for you and other members of the family too. Mother’s can use it to treat stretch marks (or even as a preventative) and sore nipples from breastfeeding, or dry and sore skin (just about everything really!) and of course Emu oil can be used to treat sore muscles and joint pain.
The best use for Emu Oil - a relaxing and soothing massage at the end of a long day looking after baby. (hint hint)
